Jennifer Rubin, a few of days ago:

Finally, the Kentucky Senate general election will remain competitive, but Alison Lundergan Grimes is proving to be a less adept candidate, to both sides’ surprise.
Reality:

Not only is she getting strong coverage, she's drawing big, enthusiastic crowds.
“Well this will be a little bit like church. You'll be up and down and up and down and before you're out the door, Billy is gonna pass that collection plate not once, but twice,” Grimes said jokingly to the couple hundred people in the room who gave the Senate hopeful standing ovations before she had the chance to step behind the podium.
A couple hundred, for a Senate candidate this far out from election day? You can guarantee Mitch McConnell is getting nothing of the sort, so all his camp can do is pout.
In response to the expansive tour, [McConnell spokeswoman Allison] Moore said, “It is no surprise that Alison Lundergan Grimes is continuing to abdicate her responsibility as Secretary of State to boost herself politically after she's spent the last eight months everywhere but Kentucky pandering to Barack Obama donors. Perhaps somewhere in Hollywood, Alison realized she’s in her own primary race against a man who hasn’t filed an FEC report, so anything below 99 percent of the vote is a massive failure.”
Who knows where Grimes has been? Maybe she was in Hollywood, or perhaps having dinner with Satan! Maybe she was eating puppies for dinner, or kidnapping schoolgirls in Kenya. Who can say? All we can do is use words like "perhaps" and speculate because heavens knows reality isn't playing along.

This is Kentucky. Mitt Romney won it by over 22 points. Yet the top Republican in the Senate is hanging on for dear life. So yeah, it must suck to be them.

More coverage of Grimes' listening tour which totally proves how un-adept she is.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
