Good Morning everyone! I hesitate writing this as it will display my ignorance - but necessity trumps pride. We are a family of four - I reluctantly work in the energy industry due to lack of foresight on my career desires at an early age, being somewhat successful in math and science, and now prostituted for the income. I have always wanted to escape this path - but bills and raising children and the ease of which I have it has made me focus on my career as Mommy first with the other as a means to an end. My husband works in the health care field.
Without giving away too much, we have been hit with some changes in my job structure. Couple that with both of our desires to start our own health care business, we are contemplating doing just that. However, my husband's current job has great benefits. When we looked at this pre-ACA, we were estimating about $1100/month in insurance costs for our family. I have no idea where to go to find out if this could be different now or how it might impact us in the decision to hire people and give them a benefits package. I have read loosely around the edges on the topic but have so many irons in the fire that I haven't focused on it. I realize that admission by itself may invite criticism - but I can take it as long as I can gather some information. This is the only place I come that I know I can gather and discern information of top quality.
Quick note too - this is only maybe my third diary and the last one was when the original H1N1 outbreak happened so I am a novice. Any tips on diary presentation will be welcomed as well!
Thank you in advance for any information anyone might be willing to pass along or share. Have a safe and great weekend!
