Screencap of op-ed:
It's becoming faddish again to mentally bra-burn. The Times found twenty-something feminist actresses who are perpetually outraged at people's failure to bow to feminism. HBO star Lena Dunham said her "greatest pet peeve" is women spurning the term feminist. Last summer in The Guardian newspaper, openly lesbian Ellen Page lamented: "I don't know why people are so reluctant to say they're feminists. Maybe some women just don't care. But how could it be any more obvious that we still live in a patriarchal world when feminism is a bad word?" [...]

Many people don't accept the term "feminist" because it sounds like a very serious kind of pagan religion, with its own dogma and doctrinal enforcers. Others find feminists to be boors, pure and simple. Still others see the hypocrisy of it all. If feminists really believed women should be liberated to make their own path, wouldn't they embrace a debate over feminism? Such is the world of the "tolerant" left.

See, if you're annoyed that women don't like the term "feminist", that's not tolerant. On the other hand, waging a long-running legal and electoral battle to deny people the right to marry who they love, well that's kosher.

As you'll see below the fold, the natives agree that women really do suck.

Feminism was necessary in the destruction of the family, one of the many goals of the progressives. Long ago they accomplished the goal of making outlawing pornography a violation of freedom of the press. They have now succeeded in making many people believe that homosexuality is normal, natural, healthy. Now liberal judges in many states are tossing out laws against same-sex marriage, subverting the will and votes of the people.
Hey feminists, you missed one:
Jason Howe, 48, and Adrian Perez (L), 48, who were married in Spain, and again in California, hold their one-year-old twin daughters Clara (R) and Olivia at a playground in West Hollywood, California after the United States Supreme court ruled on Californ
The Feminist gestapo come off as anti-man and bossy and other women are repelled by it, so how do the feminist gestapo react? By more shrieking anti-man, bossy rhetoric. The self declared guardians of feminism have brought that perception on themselves by their actions and declarations, only missing their brown shirts, armbands and matching jack-sensible shoes. I'd suggest that they calm down but that would only induce more bug-eyed shrieking and swinging purses.
Yeah, those bitches would be so unreasonable after being accused of being Nazis!
The feminist "movement"..(. all the stages) has been a battering ram for socialist policies which harm man woman child.. in other words, everybody... but particularly the "family unit" are a favourite target. Long in the tooth feminists are so bitter, angry and obtuse. And you really don't want to have anything to do with the feminist males... they, like the females, are of little use to the human race.
It has been my experience that men married to feminists get a sick satisfaction, i.e., a faux-sense of moral superiority (all men are PIGS but I am the exception to the rule), from being a self-loathing male and accepting the mainstream female-chauvinist narrative at face value. Hence the term "mangina." John Kerry comes to mind.
Reminds me of a young woman who used to be in my van pool in Los Angeles. One day she got on the van, practically shaking with frustration. "I am a feminist, but I NEVER want to work for a woman again!" She was sick of working for emotional women bosses and wished to again have a fatherly boss like she had in the past. Ironically, she is from Simi Valley, just like Shailene. Woodley. And they are both straight.
"Fatherly boss"? Seriously?
I've had only one woman boss I enjoyed working for. We're still friends to this day.

Every. Single. one of the others was a strung-out, hysterical, drama queen and control freak.

The most enjoyable job I ever had, I had because of a good male boss who was, in fact, fatherly. My husband and I are still friends with him and his wife, too, though Elmer is now in his eighties and has Alzheimer's. :(

Damn bitches and wanting to run shit.
Funny thing, there were NO feminists on the S.S. Titanic- only female-chauvinists.
Excellent point! That's definitely worth $0.76 to the dollar in perpetuity.

Wait, what was the sex of the captain of the Titanic?

I am sooooo fortunate to have a sweet, beautiful wife who thoroughly rejects all aspects of modern feminism. I feel sorry for men married to feminists.
Dear god...
Most women reject the feminist label for the same reason most white people reject the KKK.

They are an unhinged, spiteful minority that bring great shame to those they claim to champion.

No women consider themselves feminist at all!
Conducted Nov. 4–6, 2012, by Lake Research Partners, [the poll] found that 55 percent of women voters and even 30 percent of men voters consider themselves feminist.

These results are generally 9 points higher than they were in 2008, when the same question was posed to voters, and this upward trend is likely to continue given the strong identification with feminism by younger women and women of color.

Yup. No one. Even the 38 percent of Republican women who called themselves feminists? They are like zero. And damn, look at all those manginas!
There is nothing in the left's DNA that promotes any kind of "tolerance". To them "tolerance" is "do it my way" "agree with me" and if you don't you are an intolerant bigot, homophobe, anti-woman cretin. These people are straight out of Orwell and 1984. "Tolerance" is newspeak for "your are wrong if you don't agree with my point of view'. The biggest espouser of "tolerance' is the most intolerant human on the planet..Barak Obama. He of "it's settled science" and "the debate is over". God saves us from the "tolerant" on the left.
Damn the left for being so intolerant of intolerance!
Rush Limbaugh's Undeniable Truth of Life #24. Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women access to the mainstream of society.

"If feminists really believed women should be liberated to make their own path"

Then why do they diminish women who chose to be stay at home moms instead of following a rigid career path?

Why don't they consider women like Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann feminists? They are both capable multi-taskers who simultaneously raised a family and pursued careers.

Is it because they don't support abortion on demand? Or because they don't buy into the wage gap issue? Is it because they're conservative republicans?

Yet, low rent gold digger Wendy Davis is now a feminist heroine because of her filibuster on abortion.

Like all things "leftist", women Are free to chose their own path, as long as it's the path feminists agree with.

Bow to the über-feminist:

If we want a world of equality, feminism has got to go, because they won't be satisfied with anything less than an Amazonian society where all men are either breeding stock or part of the castrated serving class. It boils down to this: Feminists hate men for being men, and they hate women for not being men, or not wanting to be men. And on top of the man hating, feminism has succeeded in objectifying women far better than any "patriarchy" ever did. Feminism really is responsible for most of what is wrong with the world today.
Huh, I thought it was gay people. Or was it black people? Or maybe all those brown people invading American from its southern border? I thought it was the liberals. Then someone told me it was Barack Obama. Let's not forget France, which was the source of all evil. And Muslims? Come on, what isn't the fault of Muslims?

But I guess I was wrong. It's really about women demanding equal pay for equal work. Who knew?

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch, baby. You want equality, it covers both sides of the equation. If X=Y, and you take something away from the X, then the Y loses something, as well. Or if you think it is 2X=Y (meaning men have twice the benefits of women), fine--take the two away from the X, and the Y gets halved. You cannot have it both ways.

Fine, you want equality--if you're satisfied having less, that works for me!

You better be satisfied with having less, otherwise you'll have less. Joke's on you!
Feminists are monsters.
I hold them to partially to blame for my son having Gender Identity Disorder. Their refusal to allow men to BE men by either figurative or literal castration is a crime against humanity.
Just partially to blame? Who gets the rest of the blame?

Obama, right? It's gotta be Obama.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
