Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) says Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R-Calif.) Benghazi investigation as “out of control.”At issue: The fact that Issa issued a subpoena to Secretary of State John Kerry to appear before his oversight panel to talk about #Benghazi even though (a) Kerry was a senator at the time of the attack and (b) all GOP #Benghazi investigations are now supposed to be consolidated in their new select committee. Clearly Issa isn't happy with losing the limelight, so he's using his prerogative as chairman of the oversight committee to keep his name in the headlines.
“I think he is going rogue,” Cummings said in an interview with “Politics Nation” on MSNBC on Tuesday night. “I actually believe that Chairman Issa is out of control. I really believe that.”
Given the absurdity of Issa's subpoena and the fact that it surely annoyed Republicans who would rather see Rep. Trey Gowdy and the select committee lead the #Benghazi clown show, Kerry decided to oblige Issa. If Republicans insist on being clowns, you can't blame Democrats for letting the show go on, can you?
