In the wake of the horrific killing spree at the University of California, Santa Barbara a social media phenomena has gained international attention. As word of Elliot Rodger, the alleged killer’s sex-obsessed, misogynist manifesto spread, the #YesAllWomen hashtag soon began trending on Twitter. Suddenly, expressions against gender violence were posted, giving voice to women who shared their own gut-wrenching stories of domestic or psychological abuse at the hands of men. The message at the core of the conversation is that all women experience harassment, discrimination and gender inequality. Many contributors shared that they have been threatened with and/or experienced violence and rape when they refused sexual advances. Not one to pass up an opportunity to do a little woman bashing of his own, Rush Limbaugh jumped into the mix today. He couldn’t resist calling the
#YesAllWomen “militant femiNAZIs”.
Limbaugh mocked suggestions by mental healthcare experts that we all need to be more aware of “warning signs: and “red flags”.
“We’re told that we need to get sensitive, and we need to start recognizing the traits in people like Elliot Rodger, so that we can maybe stop them before we act,” he said. “We’ve got to see the signs, and then when we see the signs we have to be willing to act on the signs that we are seeing — the telltale signs that we might be dealing with somebody unbalanced, capable of mass murder and violence.”
“Well I’m gonna tell you somebody we need to keep a sharp eye on,” Limbaugh said, “I think somebody needs to put Harry Reid in a safe and secure place. This obsession that he has with the Koch Brothers very much scares me.”
Limbaugh even made claim that women enjoyed being victims. Of course, he thinks it won’t make one iota of a difference for him to make fun of women. He’s been doing this for decades. Limbaugh coined the word
“feminazi” back in the ‘90’s to use against the feminist movement whose only agenda was to promote equality. Limbaugh’s list of misogynist attacks is lengthy and includes such statements like;
“It all went downhill when women got the right to vote” and his three day rants, calling
Sandra Fluke names after she testified before a congressional hearing in favor of birth control pill insurance coverage.

A very strong woman once said,
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
