"I, John Boehner, do solemnly swear that I will manipulate the Constitution of the United States against all enemies of the GOP, especially any uppity negro Presidents; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to my party over country; that I will take this obligation with the backing of corporations, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion that any Supreme Court majority could be bothered to bring to trial, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter as long as it results in embarrassingly massive economic benefits for my financial benefactors. So help me Koch."

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  I wonder what the final tally on wasted time (4+ / 0-)

and money will be? Toss in the wasted time and money for the non-scandals like Fast & Furious and, of course, BENGHAZI!!!! and these assholes have flushed some serious money down the crapper. Not to mention wasted time they could've been actually working for Americans. Yeah, yeah, I know, they're working for their owners and doing a bang up job of it. Fuckles.

    •  The cost of running the Congress (0+ / 0-)

is nearly all fixed. Whatever they do, or not do, doesn't really matter from a budget perspective. If the GOP House hadn't spent any time on nonsense like ACA repeal or Benghazi how much extra cash would be in the House budget account at the end of the fiscal year, and what other legislation would have been passed? I think the answers to both questions is zero and that's how much all this nonsense has cost. When the House hires outside counsel to take the administration to federal court that is money wasted, but senseless attempts at legislation have little, if any, actual cost associated with them.

      •  Until yesterday I might've agreed with you (0+ / 0-)

But I just saw a House Republican push thru a bill to tell the DEA to not waste money harassing growers of medical marijuana. The fact the House leadership has made Benghazi and Obamacare such circus attractions means that other opportunities like that have been lost, I'm certain of it.

        •  The legislative agenda in the House (0+ / 0-)

hasn't been so crowded that good bills that had bipartisan support, and would have passed if time permitted, are being left on the sidelines.

        •  The vote.... (1+ / 0-)

... had over three times as many Democrats voting for it as Republicans, 170 to 49. Now lets see the House majority put a jobs bill up for vote, or an immigration bill, or a food stamps bill, or an unemployment bill...

          •  Yes, but the bill was proposed by a Republican (0+ / 0-)

from California. And by all accounts a pretty conservative Republican. There are times their "small government" mantra is something we can use to our advantage. Too bad we can convince to keep government out of women's bodies or the NSA out of our phone conservations. :P
