WASHINGTON, DC – June 03, 2014 - A national veterans group announced today that they are targeting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Ranking Member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee Richard Burr with a new ad campaign calling out the Republicans for blocking critical funding for our nation’s veterans at time of crisis in the Veterans Affairs Department.  read more>>>

“Our nation’s Veterans are heroes, not political pawns. It is time for Senate Republican leaders to stop blocking vital legislation that will provide more than $20 billion in funding to care for Veterans.”
~ Jon Soltz, Iraq war veteran and Chairman of

"Why in 2009 were we still using paper?” VA Assistant Secretary Tommy Sowers “When we came in, there was no plan to change that; we’ve been operating on a six month wait for over a decade.” 27 March 2013

It isn't a VA 'scandal', it's the Country served and through their Representatives 'SCANDAL', decades long and wars from as they ignore the issues so they need not pay for! Wars over no need to wave them patriotic, Patriotism Posers, flags! Nothing more to see or need to do here, the move along very long standing Veterans issues attitude during and after the rubber stamped wars and all the costs for, still not paid for!

Enough Talk. Take Care of Our Veterans
"The simple truth is that with 2 million more veterans coming into the system in recent years there are many facilities within the VA that do not have the doctors, nurses and other personnel that they need to provide quality care in a timely way." - Senator Bernie Sanders  read more & sign on>>>
06/02/14 - VA problems still need congressional action, Shinseki resignation notwithstanding
Rachel Maddow points out that the resignation of Eric Shinseki as Secretary of Veterans Affairs did not solve the V.A.’s problems and Congress needs to take further action even as the Shinseki resignation has distracted the nation’s focus.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Big mistake, allowing Shinseki to resign, in my view.

  •  Republican's should know Right ? (0+ / 0-)

Things like this happen when you underfund the SSA and VA attempting to use 'Soft Government Coercion' to push the public to " Privatization "

However one only need to take a look at the Private sector to see that they have a equal if not worse issue with fraud.

From a press release by the DOJ in 2003 :

    read more :

Clearly from that you can see that the Libertarian Marxism approach of "Privatization" isn't a viable solution to this issue. Repealing the republican de-funding efforts to provide the VA and SSA adequate staffing to handle the investigation case loads would be the correct move.

Someone should point out the fact that the Republican have so severely underfunded the SSA that they have had to close branch offices all over the country . Most have been shut down under suspicious conditions . The Hickory, North Carolina office has been closed for over a year because the new building has a smell. LOL No effort was made to reopen the old office , Which "Smells" of "election year Cover up" ...
