Scott Esk is a candidate for the state House in Oklahoma. Last summer, he wrote on gay people are "worthy of death" and that violence against gay people is "in the old testament under a law that came directly from God."
When he was asked "So just to be clear, you think we should execute homosexuals?", he responded "I think we would be totally in the right to do it."
On what level can that be even remotely acceptable? How can it not result in vehement condemnations from everyone who hears about it?
On his campaign website, he says "I look forward to applying Biblical principles to Oklahoma law."
When the religious right talks about "biblical principles", do they realize that this is what those principles are?
