Dislike your parents, know everything. Find simplicity profound with underlying meaning, fail at explaining it. Collect moleskins.

Scowl at passing children, kick rocks. Drive offensively, play music very loud. Smoke, smoke some more. Grow your hair out, don't wash it.

Go to a chain department store and buy materials to make signs for this afternoons corporate protest. Chant, cover your face. Eat fast food.

Prepare for the interview that will change your life. Buy a nice suit. Over draw your account. Pile student loan bills on the nightstand.

Dress nicely, shop locally. Recycle, reuse, reduce your consumption of commercial products. Play in the dirt, plant things. Be a good person.

Be funny, accepting, secure. Be outgoing, smile, make eye contact. Talk to strangers, compliment people. Maintain a pleasent disposition.

Be lonely, fall in love, get married, be lonely, have a child, be lonely and tired and broke. Tell everyone it's worth it, it's a miracle.

Volunteer for your child's PTA meeting, cut the orange slices perfectly. Shake your head in disapproval at your neighbors overgrown lawn.

Lie in a hospital bed, watch the flowers wilt. Push the green button whenever you can. Visit with the ghosts of the living. Close your eyes.

I'm starting to think the Iraq War wasn't worth the 1.7 trillion dollars we spent on it.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
