Conservatives Quickly Label Latest Benghazi News A Distraction!

Well, you would think that Republican/conservatives would be happy with the capture of a suspected terrorist….right?  Wrong!  Those are Republicans and country does not mean shit if they can score a political point.  It sounds like Republicans would much rather let terrorist go free so they will have talking points and investigating the issue countless time at taxpayers dime.

I am not sure if Republican Party and its' followers can scoop any lower?  Who wouldn't be happy for capturing one of the Benghazi suspect?  Republicans!…  They see the capture as distraction!!!

“Almost immediately following the reports that Ahmed Abu Khattala was in U.S. custody, conservatives furthered their distraction meme, questioning the motives and timing behind Khattala's capture.
Fox News' Kennedy suggested that the news was timed to boost Hillary Clinton's book tour and distract from her role in the administration's response to the Benghazi attack.”

NYT: Captured Suspect Said Benghazi Attack Was Revenge For Anti-Islam Video

Well, if that is the case, all Republican Party and conservatives done at this point were all political and did not have the best interest of the country for the past 8 Benghazi investigations.

" Ahmed Abu Khatallah, the suspect captured by U.S. special forces on Tuesday for his role in the 2012 Benghazi attack, reportedly said he was motivated in part by the anti-Islam online video made in America, according to the New York Times."

Is this disgusting or what?  But, what else would you expect from Republican/conservatives?  Here is a response from Harry Reid in regards to Republican reactions.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

…for staging and leading a planned attack of heavy artillery against a CIA torture compound.

He wasn't walking around carrying a placard on a stick.

I don't think the NYT, the CIA mouthpiece, is a very good source except for propaganda.

But the good news in all of this is Hillary has definitely been selected as the next president of the United States.

    I don't have a problem with that.

If Obama wanted to help Hillary, wouldn't he wait until she was actually running?  What good does it do a possible 2016 campaign to have The Terrorist Capture Distraction ('cause, you know, that's a thing, according to Republicans) happen in 2014, before she's even declared her candidacy?

to sweep rubbish off the street, so Mrs. Clinton can make her decisions without having to deal with at least this particular crappy allegation either to overcome it or . . . . .

I am not a Clinton fan, but there is something horribly ironic after all the howling by Rs about how the story as to videos was a phony and this one and that one lying to the American public etc etc etc, and then catching the alleged guy, gotta used the 'alleged' as he is headed to civilian court and is entitled to the presumption of innocence, and said alleged guy says that the videos in fact figured relevantly after all and O was not wrong early on. Watch the Rs try to sweep this one away now, and find a new one.

It is also very sad that the Rs in a nation which once prided itself for being voluntarily bound by the rules of due process and the like, protecting persons from the unjust force of laws, now say that it is not only not binding but not preferred even, an unpleasant option only, rather than part of what at least used to make Americans Americans at all, the source and heart of exceptionalism.  Sigh.

a lot of reasonable conservatives confused by this attack on something that is obviously a good thing to have happen.

Kind of like hunting down bin Laden was a bad thing.
