Aussie blogger Jo Nova is unveiling a brand new climate model that her husband, Dr. David Evans, has been working on. It's all very complex (to a layman) and concerns an old denier favorite: the sun.
This "BIG NEWS" is detailed in a string of posts. The main point of the posts — hidden behind mountains of technical statistics and discussion of "notch filters" (which are used in electrical engineering to filter out audio feedback) — is that greenhouse gasses don't cause climate change. But the authors are puzzled to find that the Earth didn't cool in response to the Sun's 11 year cycle of cooling. By way of explanation, they find some sort of unnatural forcing has made it so the Earth's temperature isn't responding directly to the cycle of the sun, causing temperatures to increase as the Earth receives less solar radiation.
While we're sure they won't come to the obvious conclusion that greenhouse gasses are trapping heat and causing the planet to warm, we eagerly await their findings. It's been hinted that it may have something to do with cosmic rays, so it should be entertaining!
