This morning I got another rejection email for a job where I'd figured I was a good fit. I had actually worked for the school district print shop before and the people I worked with seemed happy with my performance and my boss there even gave me a reference when I applied for other positions. I've tried for the last year or so to apply for jobs in the district and other areas both public and private, but I've run into 2 problems.
I'd already mentioned that with many interviews that a lot of times they already know someone they want to hire, but with many public sector positions in my area it seems you have to already have a position within the county to even be considered. To make a long story short: Transfers take priority.
With all that said, I'm honestly thinking about just letting go of any aspirations I had of obtaining any semblance of a 'normal' life with a chance at a 'decent' living because no matter how hard I work toward it I feel like I'll never be given a fair shake anywhere.
I'm willing to work, but why the hell should I even bother when the fix is in to begin with?
See you around,
Homer
