Seven states are holding primaries or runoffs tonight. Our
guide to the key races can be found here. Oklahoma will hold a runoff on Aug. 26 in races where no candidate wins more than 50 percent tonight. We'll be bringing you tonight's results as they come in, and you can keep track of all the winners just below:
Results & Poll Closing Times (all times Eastern):
6:30 PM PT (David Nir): OK-Sen-B: The AP has called the GOP primary for Rep. James Lankford. He wins without a runoff, beating T.W. Shannon 56-36, and he's a lock to hold this seat for Republicans in November.
6:33 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen: Chris McDaniel has been slowly making up ground and now trails Thad Cochran 52-48. This tracker (which compares primary results to tonight's results) is starting to look a lot better for McDaniel.
6:39 PM PT (David Nir): NY-21, -22: In the former, Elise Stefanik leads Matt Doheny 64-36 with 11% reporting. In the latter, Rep. Richard Hanna leads Claudia Tenney 58-42 with 20% counted.
6:43 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen: In MS, Cochran's best county, Hinds (home of Jackson and a lot of black voters) still has a lot of uncounted votes. But McDaniel's best county, Jones, hasn't tallied a single vote yet. Cochran's still up 52-48 with 58% reporting statewide.
6:46 PM PT (David Nir): A quick run through Colorado:
CO-Gov: Bob Beauprez is pulling away from Tom Tancredo, 31-26 with 49% reporting.
CO-04: Ken Buck still holds a strong lead, up 45-25 on Scott Renfore with 40% reporting.
CO-05: Counting has slowed down here, but Rep. Doug Lamborn has just a 52-48 edge on challenger Bentley Rayburn with 53% reporting.
6:47 PM PT (David Nir): NY-01: State Sen. Lee Zeldin is mashing attorney George Demos (once described as the "genital herpes of Long Island politics" by a Republican official), 63-27 with 25% reporting. There's an early trickle of votes in NY-13, too.
6:54 PM PT (David Nir): OK-05: The AP has called a runoff between state Corporation Commissioner Patrice Douglas and ex-state Sen. Steve Russell.
6:57 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen: Jones County is now starting to reporting, but it's not boosting McDaniel as much as he'd like.
6:58 PM PT (David Nir): NY-22: Getting closer here. Hanna is up just 54-46 with 37% reporting.
7:01 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen: In counties that haven't reported at all, Cochran held a narrow 51-49 primary night lead, same as the 51-49 lead he's clinging too right now. Not good news for McDaniel.
7:05 PM PT (David Nir): The liveblog continues here.
