McDaniel is pissed black democrats had the nerve to vote in an election.
Ok, so first off, we don't actually know if 'black voters' decided the election in Mississippi's GOP run-off but never mind that, facts tend to get in the way of the Tea Party's insanity and they are convinced that black democrat voters (OMG!) caused Thad Cochran to win in MS.
Tea Party enthusiast Ben Jacobs of the DailyBeast wrote:
In a brutal Deep South Republican primary runoff the establishment candidate’s campaign is asking black Democratic voters to break the law to fight off the Tea Party.
Well, needless to say, Jacobs is wrong, it is not 'illegal' for blacks to vote and it is not 'illegal' for black democrats to vote in the GOP run-off. But, as I say, facts tend to get in the way of the Tea Party's BS rhetoric.
Helping to sow racism, the New York Daily reports:
Backed by a late surge of black voters, Sen. Thad Cochran unexpectedly held off a challenge by Tea Party stalwart Chris McDaniel in a bruising Mississippi Republican primary.
NY Daily goes on to complain:
Cochran, a former Democrat, rallied to victory behind votes from overwhelmingly Democratic African-American voters north of the state capital of Jackson. They were allowed to vote in the Republican runoff.
OMG!!! "
They were allowed" ... to exercise
their constitutional right to vote -
HOW DARE THEM!!!!
I also noticed that the NY Daily employee who wrote that piece mentioned Cochran used to be a democrat but failed to mention that in 2003 Tea Party candidate Chris McDaniel voted in the Democrat primary. Not only that, Murdoch's employee failed to mention McDaniel had not voted in GOP primaries since before 2003. Oh well.
Mississippi Clarion Ledger reported in 2013
Records show ultra-conservative Republican U.S. Senate candidate Chris McDaniel voted as a Democrat in the 2003 state primary ... When first asked, on Monday, about his voting record, McDaniel said: “I have never voted in a Democratic primary. I’ve only missed a couple of votes in my life, like when I had the flu … That’s just people being desperate and tacky. I don’t remember voting ever in a Democratic primary … I was absolutely voting in the Republican primary. I remember Haley (Barbour) was running for governor against a lawyer in Jackson.”
Oh, ok McDaniel remembers "absolutely voting in the Republican primary" and even recalled "Haley (Barbour) was running for governor against a lawyer in Jackson." So that clears that up, right?
But wait ... there's more from the Clarion
But on Tuesday, McDaniel’s campaign spokesman Keith Plunkett said it is possible McDaniel voted in the 2003 Democratic primary, but only because back then, most Jones County officials and candidates were Democrats and McDaniel would have wanted to vote for local offices.
hmmm ... Surely to the Tea Party God, McDaniel didn't stop voting for republicans, did he?
Clarion Ledger reports that MS Secretary of State Hosemann said.
HOSEMANN: “When (the Clarion-Ledger) requested the records, I looked at them, and they show he voted Democrat when Haley Barbour, Amy Tuck, Tate Reeves and Stacey Pickering were running in the Republican Primary. They also show he didn’t vote in the presidential election in 2004 – when Bush was running – and didn’t vote in the Republican Primary in 2008."
HOLY TEA CRAP!!! McDaniel didn't vote for Bush and didn't vote in the 2008 GOP Primary for President ... WOW!
But wait, McDaniel hates cross-over voting - just read what he said on run-off night:
MCDANIEL: "Before this race is over we have to make absolutely certain the Republican primary was won by Republican voters."
Look, there is absolutely nothing wrong with challenging election results when the results are very close. And there is nothing wrong with making sure all votes were counted etc. But, when your sole bitch and complaint is that OMG! black democrat voters actually voted in an election that allows cross-over voting and you, the bitcher, has done the same damn thing, then that makes you, Chris McDaniel a Tea hack! A typical hypocritical Tea hack!
