A personal note to Speaker Boehner: Thank you, thank you, thank you, John, for providing much needed entertainment in times of stress. You and your Republican colleagues really must read Daily Kos and watch MSNBC to get a better handle on the travesty your leadership has become. Do you actually know how great your puerile threats make our President look? Probably not - you keep making them.
The inane threat the Speaker made that he will sue the President brings into question how much he really understands the laws and people he serves. We should not forget the grandiose display of love for country when, after the 2010 election, each member of the House read aloud an assigned section of the Constitution, pledging their loyalty to that great document and promising to move the country forward and in the right direction.
Speaker Boehner and the House have made a mockery of governance. Group think is dangerous. It slams the door on creativity and removes the obligation to verify and provide the leadership America deserve. This is not about the Party; it's about what is best for the country. We - all of us - are the country. Somewhere along the way, after the midterm elections, Republicans were so overcome by the euphoria of victory that they detoured from their promises, wandering aimlessly back to the 18th Century, resurrecting hate and injustice.
The Republican Wall of Shame continues to grow. Nothing has changed; nothing is better. They have forgotten the advice of the great Presidents who spoke with the wisdom of experience: "A divided nation cannot stand." In his tenure, we are more divided than at any time in our history. We have witnessed the murders of 26 children and teachers in Newtown, Connecticut; 78 dead and injured in Aurora, Colorado; countless murders in city after city; continued obeisance to the NRA, making the value of an American life worth no more than the cost of a gun. In his tenure, America has become a killing field. The Speaker should, by all means, sue the President; nothing else is pressing on his agenda.
