from my Mid-East correspondent ... and shared here for the benefit of the community. There are two links -- his report calls attention the announcement and to the parallel reporting of ISIS Financial and Business Planning documents. The first link is to a third party post in the ZeroHedge website and the second to a YouTube link. The comments in these posts are more than a bit vitriolic; limited sampling is probably adequate. Presumably the point is that ISIS is an investment opportunity for wealthy Arabs (especially from Saudi Arabia?). The video helps make the point the way a video presentation accompanying the latest prospectus for a disruptive internet project might. The report is below the squiggle.
QUOTED REPORT: ISIS declared the Islamic Caliphate this morning. Sort of a pre-victory party before advancing on Bahgdad.
What is most incredible about this group is not their millitary strategy (although clearly it is advanced as they have won several battles outnumber by 3::1 at times) but rather their understanding of media presence.
The FT reported that they have been creating quartly reports since 2012 for investors in the jihad: ISIS Annual Reports and Business Plan This includes their thesis statement on the announcement of the new state.
And here is the 15 minute YouTube video that demonstrates high production values: https://www.youtube.com/...
Strange Times. [comment: jihad planned by business school teams?]
The destablization of the middle east as presented by the neo-cons in 2001 may be proving to be a bit more than anyone gambled on.
