In light of the Hobby Lobby decision today, I could spend time talking about birth control, women's rights, etc. But Instead, I just want a second to say that this is a huge step in the history of the USSC in admitting that some religions are better than others.
Does your religion refuse Psychotherapy? Tough. Not real enough, it still should be covered.
Does your religion disagree with blood transfusions or blood transfusions? Again, tough..
Does your religion disapprove of Birth Control? Congratulations, you're in the right sect, please proceed to push your faith on others.
I had expected this ruling to be 5-4 in favor of Hobby Lobby. And, while I knew it was coming I'm still sad that it did. What I hadn't expected was such a list of crazy limiting factors that basically tell us certain faiths are technically better than others.
There is nothing below the squiggle outside of my thoughts on the meeting rooms behind the USSC.
From Ginsburg's Dissent:
"Approving some religious claims while deeming others unworthy of accommodation could be 'perceived as favoring one religion over another,' the very 'risk the [Constitution's] Establishment Clause was designed to preclude."
