Well we all knew the party that just loves us would set the record right, no?

Senate Republicans voted to block legislation on Wednesday to overturn the Supreme Court's Hobby Lobby ruling and restore the legal right under Obamacare to cost-free contraceptive coverage for most female workers.

The procedural vote was 56 for, and 43 against, falling short of the needed 60 to defeat a filibuster. Three Republicans voted with Democrats on the bill: Sens. Susan Collins (ME), Mark Kirk (IL) and Lisa Murkowski (AK). Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) switched his vote to no at the end to reserve his right to bring up the bill again.

The party that cant work out how to speak to women as equals, they even managed to find a woman to say that they should talk down to women.
GOP Rep: Talk ‘Down to a Woman’s Level’ as Women Do Not Understand Money

Republican men have been advised to bring policy “down to a woman’s level” because women do not really understand complicated things like pie charts or money

The party that just cant get to grip with women's biology
"once a child does exist in your womb, I'm not going to assume a right to kill it just because the child's host (some refer to them as mothers) doesn't want it.
Of course they filibustered it because after all religion trumps women.

Is it any wonder that I loathe the Republican Party?

This continued mocking of our rights by the Republican party needs to be hammered from now on, in the long term it is a rock solid winner.

According to the CNN/ORC International poll, which was released Friday, 55% of Americans surveyed say the GOP doesn't understand women. That number rises to 59% among all women and 64% among women over 50.
According to the survey, the Democratic Party does not face the same concerns: 63% of all Americans and 62% of American women say that the Democrats understand women.
Now there is some data to work with and improve. The poll is 5 months old and we should be hammering this difference home continually.

There is a war on women and it is lead by the Republican Party and backed up by religious fundamentalists.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
