I just read an article that somewhat needs clarification. I have a few questions. What does the entire statement of support say, in full, and did Al Franken, Sherrod Brown, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders specifically support the bombings and ground campaign?

The article I just read:

They seem to be saying AIPAC has bought everyone off.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

using an extremist site to smear democrats, on top of your last post, where you suggested democrats were so bad we should let republicans win, i think a pattern is emerging.

there, he explained that "Last Diary Post" referred to his prior diary, where, he (quite correctly) got taken to task for suggesting that it would be all for the best if we elected a Republican in 2016, since then people would get REALLY mad at them.
Unfortunately, someone suggested that if he wanted to see really anger, he should write an I/P diary.  This piece of tripe, citing to a Stormfront clone, is the result.

you know dam well what the point was. The point was that protest movements against the wars, the Patriot Act, government spying etc all went away once Obama was elected. The point was to say the left shouldn't go to sleep once a Democrat is in high office. That pressure should be kept on to stop the wars and various shitty policies that have been the norm after 9/11, even further to counter all of the shitty policies that have been the norm since the Reagan years. My point wasn't to say "vote for Republicans" my point was that the left, at the grass roots level, becomes rather passive once a Democrat is in office.

Here in Oakland, during Occupy Oakland, this was a fairly common view, it's been a fairly common view amongst socialists for over 100 years.  I'm not a liberal. No. I'm a socialist and could really care less about political expediency when it involves capitulation to the ongoing right wing economic/foreign policy agenda in Washington. I criticize many Democrats. Yes. I criticize our entire sham of a democracy. I criticize capitalism itself. Our system is broken, completely run by money and even pointing this out evokes the ire of (probably) well meaning people but sorry to tell you, outside of this site, within the more radical leftist community, my views are the norm. Framing me as some right wing troll is simply absurd, especially the Stromfront comment.

Whats the overall track record the last 30 years? Stagnating wages, free trade deals attacking labor, non stop wars and military incursions,  mounting consumer/household debt, economic crisis due to deregulation. Constant attacks on the working class from all angles and we're suppose to think the simple act of voting can turn it all around? There's what, five actually progressive Democrats? I'd say that leaves the door open for a whole lot of shitty policies to be enacted.

I've been a member of various socialist organizations over the years, in the late 90's was member of the ISO and there had been internal discussion surrounding the viability of supporting Democrats. End result being they should be supported but in a way that pushes the party further leftward. This has been the strategy for many, more left leaning, organizations for almost 100 years now. Somewhat of an "open entryism" platform. I don;t think it has worked in the slightest in the last 100 years. Let me reiterate, I'm a socialist not a liberal. Keep this in mind if and when I criticize Democrats. Sure, maybe I don't "belong" on this site but to sat I'm right wing or imply I'm antisemtic is simply off base.

Keep in mind there's many of us on the left who hold more radical positions compared to 90% of people who support the Democratic Party. I'm one of those people and was new to this site and didn't have a grasp on the culture here. It's more than abundantly clear, at this point, that the standard socialist critique of the political structure in America isn't welcome- in regard to expressing the position saying there's no real difference between the parties on economic/foreign policy. These debates take place within my political circles as well and I tend to take Chomsky's view on the subject. You may have to turn the volume up, the video is rather quiet but you dont want to her it anyway:

Ya ya, I know, RT News is Russian propaganda. Speaking of "not accepted websites" the entire reason I put the wiki description of the source in this diary was because, when reading the story initially I wasn't sure if it was some antisemitic hit site. Reading the description on wiki, at least, didn't give that impression in the slightest. The owner of the site having published articles in The Nation, Huffington Post, the Hill, Alternet etc. Also, being Jews I assumed they weren't antisemitic. Is the site really a Stormfront.0 or are you just going out of your way to make me look bad because you don;t agree with my views? Really. Take a step back here.

In the future I'll post diaries concerning socialist critiques of capitalism and the political system without mentioning Democrats. It's abundantly clear that's a no no on this site but this diary post was a simple question, did all of the Democrats in the Senate sign the  resolution. I'd have been extremely disappointed if true, especially Sanders, Warren and  Franken who in my view are just about the only Democrats I can support without holding my nose.

The resolution calls for Hamas to stop rocketing Israel. It says nothing about Israeli activities.

Certainly, it is one-sided, but that is not the same as supporting killing civilians in Gaza.
