The GOP’s ambivalent embrace of Ayn Rand, Philosopher, is embodied in namesake Senator Rand Paul. They want so bad he should be a good son but know in their hearts his ardent screwball passions will never fit the party’s hubris template (Cruz fits it—transcends it—craps it out and starts again). But Rand? His presumptive baptism of fire reckons to be be a Joan of Arc affair, in homage to Ayn of Orc.
Here’s a winning grumpynerd take on the “philosophy” in question. A better read on the Dark Mistress’s sociopathic cult nostrums is hard to find.
The quotes around philosophy above are in homage to Ayn Rand’s Wikipedia entry, which sometime in the past year got edited to remove the word “amateur” preceding it. I’m not the kind of internet Jedi who can conjure the archival proof, but no kidding, it once did. Suspect a congressional intervention fixed that little problem.
