My new good friend Ian Reifowitz, who I met at Netroots Nation, made a great point this weekend that the GOP, particularly during this August Recess where they will be conducting Town Hall meetings with their Constituents, need to be Put On Record on whether or not they agree with Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Mordor) that the Democratic Party is "Waging a War On Whites."
Get ‘em on record. Every last one of them. That’s what we need to do. Every single Republican presidential hopeful, Congressional leader, hell, any Republican who is running for federal or statewide office this fall needs to answer the question of whether or not there is a “war on whites” being waged right now by President Barack Obama.
...
The time has come for each and every Republican to decide where he or she stands. They must come out into the open and either embrace the race-baiters, or throw them under the campaign bus. But understand this, when an Alabama conservative says that the black president and his party have been waging war against white people, he is channeling the spirit of George Wallace declaring "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever." He is calling forth hatred. He is all but summoning violence.
Yes, he is - but it occurs to me that although this is an essential question, it is probably only the first in a long line of questions that need to be asked of each and every Republicans we can get without earshot of during the next 30 days.
And don't forget to bring a camera to document their answers, they should be illustrative. I'm sure many of you are capable of coming up with your own questions, but just in case I have a 20 samples over the orange cheese doodle.
1. Do they agree with Phil Gingrey that immigrant children have Ebola or with Steve King that they have Cantaloupe Calves from being drug mules?
2. Do they agree that Obama is the Greatest Food Stamp President, even though the uptick in SNAP happened as a result of the Bush Economic Downturn that occurred before he was even President?
3. Do they agree or disagree with the Wolfeboro Police Commissioner who called the President a "Fucking Nigger" who claims that despite his actual words - he's "Not a Racist"?
“While I believe the problems associated with minorities in this country are momentous, I am not phobic. My use of derogatory slang in reference to those among them undeserving of respect is no secret. It is the exercise of my 1st Amendment rights,” it read. “I believe I did use the ‘N’ word in reference to the current occupant of the Whitehouse [sic]. For this I do not apologize – he meets and exceeds my criteria for such.”
4. Do they agree with both
Cliven Bundy and
Phil Robertson who alleged that Black People were all better off before "Entitlements"? [Never mind the fact that the poverty rate for Black people used to be well above 50% as shown below!]
5. Do they agree or disagree
with Tucker Carlson that it's "Racist to
admit the existence of White Privilege"?
6. Even after statements by Newt Gingrich, Tucker Carlson, Phil Gingrey, Cliven Bundy, Phll Robertson, Steve King and now Mo "War on White People in Federal Law" Brooks, can they still say like Joe Scarborough that they never heard a Republican criticize President Obama or his Policies over Race?
7. Do they agree that President Bush delaying the Medicare Part-D employee mandate was just fine, but that President Obama delaying the Obamacare employee mandate is beyond the pale and a valid justification to Sue the President?
8. Do they agree that the President should be impeached for his "Lawlessness" even though he's issued fewer Executive Orders than any President since Eisenhower, and none nearly as sweeping in scope as the President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation or President's Truman's order to desegregate the Military?
9. Do they agree with Ted Nugent that Democrats and Southern Poverty Law Center who complained about his concert appearances are "Unclean Vermin" and that 2nd Amendment Men need to "Fix or Replace" their wives and girlfriends if they don't support Open Carry?
10. Do they agree that the Religious Rights of a Corporation trump and out weight the individual right of a women to have equal access to preventive health care?
11. If we agree that we shouldn't have faceless Government Bureaucrats between a Doctor and a Patient, should we also not have a so-called "Religious Corporation" come between their Employee and their Doctor?
12. Do they agree or disagree about whether Sandra Fluke, or any woman who complains about being forced to pay out of pocket for their contraceptives - when all prescriptions for contraceptives and Viagra and Cialis for Men are FREE - is a "Slut" or not? Why aren't those Men "Sluts" as well?
13. Do they think that women who are at Medical risk of heart or pulmonary failure as a complication of pregnancy or suffer from Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome should just suffer the consequences - would could include having their ovaries removed and going into early onset menopause or possibly even death - if they can't afford the out-of-pocket cost of contraceptive medicines?
14. Do they agree that "Liberals Hate America" as Dinesh D'Souza's new film "America" seems to imply, that we should use it to teach kids in school how much they should Hate Liberals?
15. Do they agree with D'Souza that "Obama invented the Border Crisis to Kill America for His Lefty Pals"?
16. Do they agree or disagree that Obama "Manufactured this Border Crisis" even though this massive influx of refugees fleeing murder, kidnapping and narco-trafficking in Central America began before his 2012 extension of DACA to DREAMers, an that extension clearly does not apply to anyone who hadn't already been in the country since 2007, and that the number of applications for that program have fallen off to a trickle because so few people remaining have the documentation to prove they've been here since 2007?
17. If they agree that "Obama is the Most Lawless President, Ever" how exactly is that possible when he's issued fewer Executive Orders than any President since Eisenhower?
18. Do they agree or disagree with Fox Commentators who've said the Sgt Bergdahl was lucky his fellow soldiers didn't find him, because he would have "come home in a body bag" which would save us the court costs for having an actual Investigation or Trial with Evidence and Cross-Examination of his alleged "Desertion" and how he was captured after asking if it was "Ok, if he left the Base?" How could he be AWOL or a Deserter if the first thing he did was ask for permission to leave?
19. Do they agree or disagree with the House Intelligence Committee Report which clears the White House of wrong-doing over Benghazi, and that there was no "Stand Down Order" given during the Benghazi attack, seeing as the DOD mobilized FOUR different Special Forces Teams and sent them to the area, and how two of the those killed, Tyrone Woods who was a member of the CIA Security Team who came from the CIA annex to rescue survivors from the Consulate and Glen Doherty who flew in on a charter flight from Tripoli with a Security Team weren't even at the Consulate when the attack began in the first place?
20. Do they agree or disagree that IRS couldn't only have targeted "Conservative" for scrutiny if they were ignoring the applications of Non-Conservatives - yet those who had their applications denied entirely were Liberal Groups, not Conservatives?
Bonus Question 1: Do they agree with Ted Cruz Dad that the "Bible Tells You Who to Vote For?"
Bonus Question: 2: Do they agree or disagree with Dr. Ben Carson that "Obamacare is Slavery, in a way?" or that the VA Scandal is a "Gift from God"?
Bonus Question: 3: Does Sarah Palin make the Republican Party look "Extreme" as Bill Kristol alledged?
Bonus Question 4: Do they still agree or disagree in the wake of the S&P Report on the damage that Income Inequality does to our Economy, that a Workers Fighting for a Living Wage are "Insulting to Civil Rights"?
I think these are worthwhile questions that Americans should ask. Inquiring minds need to know, preferably before this November's mid-term elections.
