In a blistering report yesterday by David Sirota, it was revealed that Rahm Emanuel is directing billions in property taxes to a slush fund to take care of his corporate buddies - all while closing schools and shortchanging pensions. How can this jackwagon claim he's broke when he has this gigantic slush fund to help fund schools and pensions?
This is simply one more example in a long line of "Democrats" that are fucking over the working class for the same wealthy, big business sycophants that we, as liberals, typically expect Republicans to be doing.
While I realize we want to elect as many people with a (D) next to their name on the ballot as possible, at what point do we start to demand at least some semblance of ideological purity from these fucksticks?
Do I expect hardcore ideological purity in the same way some tin foil hat wearing Teabagger does? No. But for fucks sake, when is enough enough? In Chicago, we have Rahm with his bullshit. In my state, we have Andrew "Governor 1%" Cuomo and Chuck "Wall Street" Schumer. In Rhode Island, they have idiots like Gina Raimondo and Peter Kilmartin doing their damndest to help hedge funders rob state coffers via their pension fund. Those are just a few examples.
It's one thing to have an ideological disagreement every now and then. It happens. But why do we keep allowing these egregiously douchebaggy fucksticks get into and keep their offices?
Pardon me for being pissed, but I work to elect Democrats so I can avoid having politicians blatantly fuck over the middle class. At what point do we stand up and finally - as the Democratic base - start demanding these assholes start implementing policies that don't screw over the average working man and working woman? At what point do we demand that our needs are more important than the needs of the deep pocketed asswipes that fund these tools campaigns?
I won't ask for your forgiveness for being angry. Instead, if you aren't angry too, let me respond by positing a question: Why aren't you angry about this shit?
