Guilty of Homicide, Murder in the 2nd degree
Gulity of Manslaughter, Death by Weapon Aimed with Intent but without Malice.
Guilty of Felony Firearms Charges.
The verdict is being described as a "challenge to Castle and Stand Your Ground Laws" that have made unnecessary use of lethal force part of the gun rights lobby creed.
The Jury did not buy the Self Defense plea in the death of Renisha McBride.
After 3 hours of deliberation yesterday, and 4 today this rather speedy victory is a push back on Michigan's Castle Doctrine and Lethal Force laws that state there is no need to retreat from a confrontation and that deadly force may be used if the person believes their life is in danger.
Wafer was awakened from sleep in a recliner by Mcbride. McBride, 19, was killed last November when she showed up inebriated on Wafer's porch at 4:40 a.m.
Wafer said he could only make out a figure around his house, said the person pounded on his door and made him fear for his life.
He will be sentenced Aug. 21 and could face a maximum of life in prison with parole.
