Yet another case of an NRA-brainwashed shooter thinking that "feeling threatened" gave him free license to shoot:
PRESCOTT VALLEY - A man who allegedly shot at another man near Bay Circle and Mission Lane on Wednesday night because, he claimed, he felt threatened, has been arrested. The shots, fired by Juan Carlos Alvarez, 30, of Prescott Valley, narrowly missed a 41-year-old man, who was struck in the chest by debris from the rounds, causing a minor injury, Prescott Valley Police Department Sgt. Scott Stebbins said, adding that two children in a nearby house also were endangered by the shooting.
Stebbins said that, when Alvarez turned himself in later at the police station, he told investigators that he went to his wife's boyfriend's house to confront him. When the boyfriend threatened Alvarez, he said he got a handgun out of his car and fired two shots in the boyfriend's direction to scare him, Stebbins said. Police did not agree that his claim of self-defense was valid "based upon the totality of the circumstances," Stebbins said.
Alvarez was booked into the Camp Verde jail on three counts of felony endangerment, and one count of disorderly conduct with a weapon. Further charges may be leveled against Alvarez after the County Attorney reviews the case, Stebbins said.
