The Daily Bucket is a regular feature of the Backyard Science group. It is a place to note any observations you have made of the world around you. Insects, weather, meteorites, climate, birds and/or flowers. All are worthy additions to the bucket. Please let us know what is going on around you in a comment. Include, as close as is comfortable for you, where you are located. Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the patterns that are quietly unwinding around us.

Castro Valley, CA
Continued below the orange coprolite
Well, we had a 6.1 in American Canyon, CA, just south of Napa, at about 3:20 am today. A friend in downtown Sonoma just had their power come back on. She had a bit of damage - those little earthquake measuring devices one tends to accumulate on shelves, dressers and such.
At least 5 aftershocks so far.
No noticeable effect here in Castro Valley.
One hopes that we will get more reports in the comments.

Thank you.
