The Democratic Senate Campaign Committee is hitting Joni Ernst, Iowa's Republican Senate candidate, with a new ad on Medicare that answers a
deceptive ad Ernst put out earlier in the week touting her support for the program. Ernst says she's committed to supporting programs for seniors, but in her primary race she endorsed the Paul Ryan privatization plan.
In this DSCC ad, Bob Glass of Des Moines talks about just what that Republican plan, endorsed by Ernst, would mean for seniors.
Pay into Medicare. And you get it back. It seems only fair. Joni Ernst wants to cut Medicare and end its guarantee.
Seniors are going to pay thousands more while insurance companies rake in bigger profits.
There’s a lack of compassion that just really bothers me. I think she’s going to be right in the insurance companies’ pocket. That’s where she’s going to be. Not looking out for me.
Given Ernst's
undying fealty to the Koch brothers, there can be little question at all that Mr. Glass and the DSCC have nailed her vision for Medicare. What a travesty it would be to have Ernst take over stalwart liberal Sen. Tom Harkin's seat.
