If Harry Reid and Senate Democrats recess for the year without confirming EVERY SINGLE ONE of the Obama nominees for open federal district court and federal court of appeals openings, that will be a major fail on the part of Harry Reid and Senate Democrats.
The Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate will be reduced after the November election (Louisiana may go to a runoff in December). It is possible that the Democrats may lose their majority in the U.S. Senate, handing control of the chamber, its agenda, its rules and its scheduling to Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans in 2015 (please, please Grimes needs to beat Mitch in Kentucky).
This could be the last opportunity to confirm ANY Obama nominees to open federal judgeships. If the Republicans gain control of the U.S. Senate, they could continue their pattern of obstruction and refuse to confirm any Obama nominees for the next 2 years.
Harry Reid needs to step up and keep the Senate in session for as long as it takes - 24/7 around the clock and through weekends and holidays - until ALL Obama nominees for open federal judgeships are confirmed. Anything short of that will be a failure by Reid and the current majority of Senate Democrats.
