Tonight voters in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island go to the polls for state and federal party primaries, while New York will hold a primary for state-level offices only (the federal primary was in June). Delaware is also up, but there isn't much to see there.
Our guide to the key races can be found here. Polls start to close in New Hampshire at 7 PM ET, and we'll be bringing you tonight's results as they come in. You can keep track of the winners just below.
Results & Poll Closing Times (all times Eastern):
8:53 PM PT (Steve Singiser): SD-34: AP has called the Democratic primary for IDC head Jeffrey Klein. He defeated Oliver Koppell by a 64-36 margin.
8:59 PM PT (Steve Singiser): SD-60: Two items of interest from that Grisanti primary: Grisanti, though he lost the Republican primary, is still on the line of the Independence Party. Also, in a bit of excellent gaming of the process, teachers unions decided to drop some coin early, in an effort to hit Grisanti (and therefore boost Stocker) right before the primary.
9:02 PM PT (Steve Singiser): SD-11: The AP has called the Democratic primary for IDC member Tony Avella. Avella appears to have scored a narrow 52-48 win over John Liu. There are nine precincts still out, but apparently the AP is confident they will not be enough to bridge what is now a 568-vote gap.
9:10 PM PT (Steve Singiser): MA-Gov: Pretty interesting stuff.
9:13 PM PT (Steve Singiser): RI-Gov: Also pretty damned interesting:
Bob Walsh, exec dir for NEARI tells me he has to think about whether throwing support for Raimondo, will also speak with Fung. #RI2014

9:20 PM PT (Steve Singiser): And with all the key races now having been called, we can call an end to this, the final primary night liveblog of the 2014 electoral cycle. Some of you have been kicking around with us since Illinois and Texas, which were roughly 29 years ago, it seems. Thanks for following the twists and turns with us. Barring an impulse to go international in the liveblog game (Rob Ford or Scottish independence, anyone?), we will convene again for the "only poll that matters": Tuesday, November 4. Good night, all!
