Wall Street was a sight this morning, the 3rd Anniversary of the first day of Occupy Wall Street! Those interlocking metal police barricades were everywhere. So were the po-po, pulling overtime to keep the Sacred Temple of the 1% free from disruptive activities and dissenting opinions.
But OWS! keeps popping up, growing through the cracks in the concrete and pushing them asunder, a living embodiment of the élan vital, the life force.
Today it took the form of a gent named Peter, who asserted he was acting on his own. He was passing out leaflets to the pedestrians of the area. Follow me below the cheetoh for the text:
ATTENTION, CITIZENS!
There is an above-average risk of expression of controversial opinions today, the anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. For this reason, Wall Street is the site of an ongoing security operation. We ask for your cooperation.
Please refrain from thinking or expressing controversial thoughts. If you hear a controversial idea expressed, please report it to the Thought Health Division of the NSA (301-688-6524), or the NYPD’s Broken Ideological Windows Program (646-610-6700).
Q: How do I know if a thought is controversial?
Some examples may help:
“Support our troops. The weather today is nice.” These are acceptable.
“Break up the big banks. Tax the rich.” These are controversial, and should be avoided during thought-security operations such as the one in progress today.
“Why is Wall Street in lockdown mode today? I thought the First Amendment protected freedom of assembly and freedom of expression.” These are forbidden. Report immediately if overheard.
THANK YOU, CITIZENS, FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
