Bill Maher was right when he said that Fox News polarizes America. They have been spinning and twisting the news for years and years now.

Today, The Five's Greg Gutfeld went after Bill Maher for simply telling the truth. It was amusing to see the hosts try to defend themselves and blame everything on "lefties." Here's a video clip from their FB page. The comments were not all their favor either.

Fox News has certainly been a dividing force among the Republican party. They have helped the Tea Party to grow stronger while at the same time, moderate Republican politicians are struggling to keep their base. The Tea Party calls these more sensible Republicans, RINO's, which stands for "Republican in name only." Yes, Republicans have been "eating their own" for quite sometime now and yes, Fox News is mostly responsible.
I can't think of any other way to put it .... Fox's so called news shows, dole out right wing EXTREMIST propaganda. They offer up flashy "ALERTS" and "Special Reports" that scroll across your television screen. Problem is, that they often contain a lot of misinformation. A "Breaking News" story may end up merely being a rendition of hearsay. This helps Fox news create scandals and conspiracy theories that you won't hear anywhere else. Their facts have as many holes in them as a slice of Swiss cheese! Indeed, there are Fact Checkers and other individuals who are worried about what this news organization is doing to America. In turn, they tune into some of these shows and when they hear misinformation being spread, they find reliable sources and correct the lies. Except ... Fox news hosts never have the guts to admit they are wrong or stand corrected on the air. Real news journalists do it all the time. And there are often consequences for their actions. Clearly, not at Fox. They are a propaganda machine and front for Republican politicians. Their biggest lie is their slogan, because they are anything but, Fair and Balanced.
On the flip side, it's true that MSNBC leans to the left. But, MSNBC seems to have a very different standard for their news hosts. If they make an error on National TV, they correct it, publicly ... and apologize. There are appearances and interviews with many Republican guests. The kicker is that often do not agree with the hosts whatsoever, but they are treated with respect. That may be the reason why so many Republicans return time and time again.
So where do Americans, who don't want to be brainwashed or listen to a news station that agrees with all their ideals, find real news? For the most fair, balanced and unbiased news, try the Nightly News at CBS, NBC or ABC. They are only on for a half hour, so their clips are pretty short and succinct. If you have more time to devote to watching the news, try PBS News Hour or BBC America. I've recently discovered the Al Jazeera network as being one of the most interesting stations that covers news we don't normally hear about anywhere else. I was skeptical at first, but it's worthwhile to check it out. http://america.aljazeera.com/

Trust in Mass Media Returns to All-Time Low
Prior to 2004, Americans placed more trust in mass media than they do now, with slim majorities saying they had a "great deal" or "fair amount" of trust. But over the course of former President George W. Bush's re-election season, the level of trust fell significantly, from 54% in 2003 to 44% in 2004. Although trust levels rebounded to 50% in 2005, they have failed to reach a full majority since.
Sharp Uptick in Americans Who Think News Media Are "Too Conservative"
As has been the case historically, Americans are most likely to feel the news media are "too liberal" (44%) rather than "too conservative," though this perceived liberal bias is now on the lower side of the trend. One in three (34%) say the media are "just about right" in terms of their coverage -- down slightly from 37% last year.
Nearly one in five Americans (19%) say the media are too conservative, which is still relatively low, but the highest such percentage since 2006. This is up six points from 2013 -- the sharpest increase in the percentage of Americans who feel the news skews too far right since Gallup began asking the question in 2001.
