ISIS? ISIL? IS?
We started with ISIS. But that is an Egyptian goddess and not at all what we are facing in the Levant.
Then it mutated to ISIL. more accurate, harder to say, no invocation of ancient deities.
But then they started calling themselves IS.
Now that's confusing.
IS is. And they are not a state (and many Muslims protest that they don't accurately represent Islam).
Why should we use the name they choose, which is to an extent, propaganda?
There's a better name on the horizon: "Daesh".
It can be translated as: "felon and dust".
It seems more appropriate than to dignify these bas+ards with the name of a religion or to call them a state.
