Andrew Cuomo
Boy, this sure is shocking:
Senator Mark Grisanti of Buffalo is said to be considering an alliance with the State Senate's Independent Democratic Conference, and met Monday with I.D.C. leader Jeff Klein as he traveled to the Queen City.
Klein's visit comes as Grisanti seeks a third term on the Independence Party line, having lost a G.O.P. primary to Kevin Stocker.
The IDC is a coalition of five nominal Democratic senators who caucus with the GOP to run the state Senate. While IDC ringleader Jeff Klein and Gov. Andrew Cuomo made some vague statements a while ago about the IDC returning to the Democratic fold after the election, they've proven time and again that there's
absolutely no reason to believe them.
With the IDC and Cuomo prepared to back Grisanti over Marc Panepinto, the actual Democrat in the race, we have even less reason to believe that they'll do anything to secure a Democratic state Senate.
Luckily, we have actual Democrats in competitive races who deserve our support. Please contribute $4 to the four real Democrats running for state Senate in New York. Let's do what Andrew Cuomo and his allies won't do and take back the Senate.
