It was a lovely day in Portlandia to meet at a favorite food truck pod, à la carts Food Pavilion. I, loggersbrat, Quill, pdxteacher, also mom of 5, J Orygun, KitRMP, Arenosa and her hubby, HRM, met around an orange draped table with good eats and some ideas about the future.

For future meetups, the following ideas were floated:
A visit to Caravan, a tiny house hotel in the NE of Portland to learn more about tiny houses
A group tour of the Shanghai Tunnels in Old Town Portland
Meeting in a meeting room in the Central Library downtown
Meeting in a pub, such as the Lucky Lab
A house party (maybe our house)
A group outing to Sauvie Island or Hood River, or somewhere else along the Columbia River.
An outing to one of the installations of the Confluence Project

Also discussed, a desire to have Portland considered as a venue for a regional Daily Kos Salon. Portland is easily accessible by train, air, or by car and is pretty central for the PNW region. There are a variety of lodging choices, including campgrounds for those who are so inclined. Portland, as a City, is very forward thinking and rather a model for the progressive crowd. And, let's face it, it's beautiful here, we have great food and drink, and a style that is as fun as it is interesting.
Everyone at the table would be willing to help out in order to make this happen...
Personally, I would like to see the DK salon here because, next year, we are going to do the DK VA Hospital Support Project for the Portland VA Hospital and it would be lovely to coordinate the two events.
We all stamped our money with stamps from the Stamp Stampede
I am developing an email list for these meet ups. Please Kos Mail me with your address to be included in the list. I won't share your address with anyone -- all communications will be sent bcc.
