Don't go. We haven't finished being mad at you yet.
Lead House Republican investibator Darrell Issa just hasn't been the same since John Boehner took his precious Benghazi away from him. Here's hoping he can
rouse himself from his current funk.
A House committee is asking a federal judge to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of court for failing to comply with a deadline a judge set to turn over documents related to the Justice Department’s response to Operation Fast and Furious.
In a motion filed Thursday afternoon, [Issa's] House Oversight and Government Reform Committee asked U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson to fine Holder personally if he doesn’t comply with an order Jackson issued in August requiring him to turn over non-privileged documents responsive to a committee subpoena by Oct. 1.
House lawyers even suggest it may be necessary to throw the attorney general in jail to get him to abide by the court order.
There ya go, little buddy. Arguing that you need to put Eric Holder in jail for
stuff, that's just like old times, right? You're still a very important person who has his pulse on the conspiracy-of-the-moment, right? Sure they took Benghazi from you—but there's still plenty of scandalish fish in the sea. I'm sure even as we speak you're already drafting the paperwork on why we should be putting the
next attorney general in jail too, getting it all formatted up nicely, all just waiting for the new name to be typed in at the top.
For Darrell Issa, demanding we put someone from the administration in jail is like sitting down to a plate of grandma's cookies or getting a nice warm hug. This is why he's in public service, people. This is why he governs.
