There would not be an American labor movement without leaders at the worksite–the stewards, activists, rank and file leaders who represent union members on the job, who enforce the contract, who keep the membership informed.
Stewards and activists are the engine of the labor movement.
We stand on your shoulders.
Stewards are the face of the labor movement.
Activists and stewards are the core strength that all we have and will have depends on.
Everything workers have ever gotten or won is from the work and struggle of worker activists.
Whatever power we have is because of our ability to organize, agitate and mobilize.
Now, however, we need all worksite leaders and activists to turn energy to organizing. We must grow, grow as a movement again.
We must rebuild our entire labor movement again.
And we must rebuild it strong enough to overcome the financial power of those who would destroy our movement and our democracy.
