Social media is a buzz.
In one of this past week's online PEOPLE stories, excerpts from an interview with Elizabeth Warren were published. During the interview, she was asked if she would run for president in 2016.
To preface this, when previously asked this very same question again and again (and again), the always direct Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) made herself very clear, with a simple and straightforward, 'NO.'
But during this PEOPLE interview, which took place last weekend in Warren's Cambridge home, the senator did not seem quite as definitive with her answer about a potential run:
"I don't think so. If there's any lesson I've learned in the last five years, it's don't be so sure about what lies ahead. There are amazing doors that could open."
"Right now, I'm focused on figuring out what else I can do from this spot" in the U.S. Senate.
Is she wavering? There are those who believe Elizabeth Warren would win and make an amazing and brilliant president. Suffice to say, a simple and straightforward
'YES' would make her many supporters around the country very happy.
In a very different light, there are the millions who have patiently worked incredibly hard, and have waited years to see Hillary Clinton take her place in the oval office. A potential run by Elizabeth Warren, would not be good news - and rightfully so. What shakes this up even more is that most Clinton supporters are also very big supporters of Warren. If Warren runs against Clinton, it will create a very large and unfortunate partisan and feminist divide.
This is speculative, and only time will tell if the much-loved senator will make her bid. Either way, Warren has been a refreshing and fearless voice in Congress, since taking office. She's not afraid to take on the most powerful, greedy and guilty human beings who run the big banks, Wall Street, and corporations, and who've been ripping off the American public. Warren aims to see them jailed, so there is that group that do not want to hear news of her running. A big advocate for student loan reform, women in office, women's rights, and social security, Warren has clearly proven she is in office to work for the people, sans the party BS.
Here is one of my favorite Elizabeth Warren interviews, with Bill Moyers.
Whether or not she runs in 2016, America wins, as long as she stays in government.
