I was listen to NPR this morning, on this in-depth investigation that they and ProPublica, have just completed, when this poignant quote struck me for some odd reason.
It's talk (and thinking) like this, that is in short supply in today's 'cut-to-the-chase' world ...
NPR -- Transcript:
RIECKENBERG: [...] I used to teach a course on leadership for the Red Cross, and one of the principles was from Colin Powell. He said if you are unable or unwilling to solve the problems of your people then you are not a leader. And I said, that's me. I'm unable to solve these problems. And so I can't stay here.
SULLIVAN: After leading the disaster efforts for more than two dozen of the country's worst storms in the past decade, Richard Rieckenberg resigned from the Red Cross.

I miss those days. When inspiration was common; and "solutions" still lived within the realm of possibilities ...
