Washington Post just added the Fairfax absentees:
Win Lean Undecided
Virginia U.S. Senate
Mark Warner (Democrat) 1,046,474 49.0 %
Ed Gillespie (Republican) 1,037,591 48.6
Robert Sarvis (Libertarian) 52,875 2.5
with 98.9% of precincts counted.
Since the margin is less than 1% Gillespie would be entitled to a recount.
Virginia has been through two separate recounts in statewide elections in recent years. Bob McDonnell maintained his very narrow margin against Creigh Deeds in the 2005 Attorney General's Race. Mark Herring won the AG race in 2013.
But in 2005 the final vote was a 360 vote margin.
In 2013 it was iirc 907.
A margin of thousands would not change.
Not a done deal, but feeling far more comfortable about it.
