GOTV'ing in North Carolina.
Alright, some big states coming in. Will Scott Brown's late surge fall short? (It'd better!) There are rumors that Ed Gillespie has had a late surge in Virginia. True or not? And we start the long agonizing count in the Florida governor's race, which should go down to the wire.
4:01 PM PT: CNN calls Kentucky Senate for Mitch McConnell. Given the early numbers, not a surprise. Doesn't look like it'll be even close.
4:01 PM PT:
If you're in #Boulder and haven't voted yet, avoid CU. Proctors there say campus polling center line now 250 deep, with a 90-minute wait.
— @alex_burness
Remember, Colorado allows same-day voter registration.
4:03 PM PT: Virginia Senate is "too early to call" -- a disappointment in a race that seemed more safely Blue than Mitch McConnell in Kentucky.
4:08 PM PT: Once asked why the Grimes campaign didn't run on Kentucky Kynect, given all the people that were being helped by it (over 400,000). A vote for McConnell was a vote for taking away their shiny new health insurance, after all. The response? The campaign didn't want to get caught up in "Washington arguments". How'd that work out for them?
4:11 PM PT: Want good news? We need good news. Here's good news.
PASCO: @CharlieCrist beating Rick Scott in Pasco County: 47.39 to 45.52. @fasanomike
— @KevinCate
Crist needed to
LOSE it by less than six points to be on track to win the state. He's winning it.
4:13 PM PT: Charlie Crist is outperforming Obama for now. By 6% in Pinellas County AND Pasco County. Scott won Pasco County 52-43 in 2010, currently losing it 47-46.
4:16 PM PT: Woah, big dump in Palm Beach County. Crist up 62-35. He needs to hit at least 58.
Remember, Republicans won the early vote as far as ballots returned, which means that independents are going heavily to Crist.
4:18 PM PT: Working off exit poll numbers, Warner is up 49.63 to 47.39 in Virginia, shockingly close. Gillespie even went off the air at the end! (More proof of how irrelevant TV advertising has become.)
4:21 PM PT: Working backwards from exit poll data:
GA-Sen: 48.8 Perdue, 48.4 Nunn
GA-Gov: 48.72 Deal, 47.28 Carter
4:23 PM PT:
Surprising things so far? In #IN02, a Safe R seat, Democrat Joe Bock is up 53-45 with 23% reporting.
— @CahnEmily
4:25 PM PT: The breakdown of the early vote in Florida was 42.6 GOP, 39.5 DEM. Yet Democrat Charlie Crist is winning the early vote by over 20 points. Did ANY independent vote for Republican incumbent Gov. Rick Scott?
4:25 PM PT:
Early vote coming in from #FL02, and Gwen Graham crushing it. She's up over Southerland 63%-37%
— @CahnEmily
Would be a Dem pickup.
4:27 PM PT: Florida has now voted 1.6 million ballots in 24 minutes, which is ... like we're watching bizarro Florida in action. And Crist leads by 9 percent -- half of the early vote which was R+3.
4:30 PM PT (Barbara Morrill): New thread here.
