This loss today was individually my fault. Three months ago the DLCC emailed my about once an hour, telling me that the Democrats were going to lose the Senate, and that it was my fault. I blocked the DLCC from sending me emails, not because of the pitch, but because of the frequency. I am sorry I let you all down.
If the DLCC had just received another $3.00 we would not be fighting to keep healthcare affordable. If the DLCC had just received another $3.00 we would not be fighting to keep President Obama from being impeached for [reasons]. If the DLCC had just received another $3.00 we would have Democrats in the Governors' Mansions of Texas, Florida and Wisconsin. And if the DLCC had sent me emails daily instead of every fucking hour I might not have blocked their emails--especially emails worded to guilt-trip me into donating.
I have been in sales for years and I can assure you that the "hammer close" is just about the least effective way to get what you want. All it does is piss the customer off, and if you happen to get the sale that day you will almost guarantee that you will lose that customer for life.
