Here's the reality we face:
In January 2015, the Republicans will pass -- and the President will sign -- a series of bills into law that progressives cannot stand. These will not be the crazy, lunatic bills like gutting the Affordable Care Act, privatizing Social Security, or eliminating the department of education.
These will be the bills that Harry Reid did not bring to the table. Keystone. Free Trade. Closing tax loopholes.
Honestly -- there are people on dKos who could come up with a much better list than I can in terms of which bills Obama will likely sign when they come to his desk.
The point is -- Harry Reid needs to identify those bills and take votes on them NOW -- eliminating all of the "low hanging fruit" for the 2015 Congress. Otherwise, you can watch Republican approval rates climb as bill after bill becomes law in January.
Take away the low hanging fruit and they will be left with the crazy stuff that they really care about -- bills that the President would never sign -- and bills that the American people would reject themselves if given the chance.
