I’ve been a registered user for a bit but haven’t commented in a while or written a diary until today. While there were a few bright spots, as a whole we got a national drubbing last night. I intentionally say “we” because despite our differences, we choose to make our tent is big and welcome others rather than pander to fear and loathing. Instead of “Don’t tread on me”, we choose “E pluribus unum”.
So for those of you that worked the phone banks, walked the neighborhoods, drove people to the polls, registered people to vote, sent money to candidates, said silent prayers or thought positive thoughts for candidates, voted and generally worked your tail off to make this country better, thank you.
I made a playlist for you. Some songs are sad, others are angry. Some are hopeful. Some maybe don’t seem to fit. For me, today is a day for contemplation and reflection. I am wishing you peace today.
But tomorrow, ah tomorrow, we all have work to do...
1. Have you ever seen the rain? Creedence Clearwater Revival
2. Heart of the matter. Don Henley
3. I’m still standing. Elton John
4. Against the wind. Bob Seger.
5. I am the highway. Audioslave.
6. If you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough. Roger Alan Wade.
7. No one is to Blame. Howard Jones.
8. You can’t always get what you want. The Rolling Stones.
9. Born in the USA. Bruce Springsteen.
10. Don’t stop believing. Journey.
Any others songs that you are listening to that will help get you through the day and get ready for tomorrow?
