This is probably wishful thinking. But I want a conference call with all Democratic Governors, Senators, and Congresspeople, and all state party leaders. And I'd ask for just one thing.
In every political ad, every stump speech, every debate, and every media appearance, you will mention the following:
During the last X years, the economy has grown for Y straight months. During the last X years, unemployment has fallen from A to B. During the last X years, the number of uninsured has dwindled from C to D. During the last X years, fewer and fewer American soldiers have died overseas.
More and more economic growth. Fewer and fewer unemployed. Fewer and fewer uninsured. Fewer and fewer dead American troops. This is what we've accomplished.
This is the truth -- it's not just a message. It's a truth Democratic candidates have been afraid to say. Now we have evidence that this fear of telling the truth didn't save anyone. The truth will catch on. It may take time, but the truth always wins out in the long run.
