Interesting.
But while we can breathe a sigh of relief that the electoral outcomes won’t be mired in litigation, a quick look at the numbers shows that in several key races, the margin of victory came very close to the likely margin of disenfranchisement.
Interesting numbers here. Is the party holding Federal power getting jobbed? Remember 2000 when after 8 years of Democratic rule the Feds couldn't stop the suit and tie mob from stopping a recount? Yeah this was a known issue but why are we breathing above mentioned "sigh of relief" that this isn't tied up in litigation?
If above the fold numbers are real that sucks. But it's deserved. Where is the Justice Department? Where is the coordinated national to local level resistance?
My take for those interested: Our top of ticket isn't integrated with the bottom of the ticket. All politics may not be local but winning close races may be. This isn't a problem of lack of organization, though there may be that problem, this is a problem of lack of a coherent message. A vision. Marching orders.
The base on the Republican street is organized, well funded and gets out the vote. The corporate Democratic Party at the top of our party doesn't have any connection to a base. No amount of volunteer out of state phone banking is going to change any of this. Populism has got to be more than one word slogans.
And segueing from voter fraud to lack of populism may be a rhetorical stretch.
