Many of us who participated with Occupy Wall Street continue to hold a vision of criminal fraud trials for the perps of the financial crisis.
Given the DOJ's and WH approach of first saying 'did nothing illegal,' 'too big to jail,' they are 'rocket scientists so too hard to prosecute,' many of us have said 'it ain't gonna happen.'
Perhaps you are right to think that, but an interview with Alayne and Matt Taibbi on Al Jazeera also revealed Justice Department response to reporter something to the effect that no waiver of criminal charges were given in the $13, scratch that, $9 billion (turns out to be sham, too) fine settlement and that they are open to pursing investigation wherever it leads!

Sorry, no transcript of hard copies of the DOJ written response pictured in the interview. Have tried to find them but as of now nada.
Criminal Fraud Prosecutions
Could evidence that fraud committed at JPMorgan Chase lead to WH-connected JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon? The Al J interview references a phone call Dimon made to DOJ that changed their actions.
With Alayne's revelations about misconduct at JP and unacceptable follow through by the DOJ there is the distinct smell of a megaton scandal here.
Will we see criminal financial fraud prosecutions? Last week DOJ Holder some were possible. Many of us would love to see accountability and the damping of moral hazard that has allowed the perpetrators behind the financial melt down to keep on doing what they did before.
8:44 AM PT: Yes, the title is snark, but really would love to see criminal prosecutions.
