"Serving Alaska in the U.S. Senate has been a tremendous honor. Today I spoke with Dan Sullivan and encouraged him to adopt a bipartisan resolve in the U.S. Senate.
I will always be involved in my community, and the results of an election have never diminished my desire or passion to make Alaska a better place."
My wife and I did some volunteering for his campaign - (she went door to door - I helped fix a couple campaign worker laptops on the side) - we just gave our 18 year old friend who worked for the ADP the bad news - I guess she cried a little
Mark was a tireless campaigner who went virtually everywhere this election - it was hoped the 25k absentee and mail-in ballots from rural areas would help him come back from behind as it did in 2008 but this one wasn't meant to be. If there was a place he could go meet with Alaskans and talk with them, he was on a bush plane out there
In a state where some people don't even take free oil (PFD) money cause it's "taking money from the f'ing government", it's hard to get a Democrat elected - our new governor is a Republican turned Independent with a Democratic running mate, and this was just the worst year for Blue Senate Candidates, but rumor is we may see him back in 2016 against Lisa Murkowski - that would be an enjoyable campaign and I look forward to seeing him again
Thanks for your service, Mark
