Thanks to our Democratic leadership playing politics instead of putting the needs of the Veterans first.
Through dirty tricks and refusing to make reasonable accommodations to disabled vets, Rep Corrine Brown has challenged the very right of the Highest Ranking NCO ever elected to Congress to even BE on the House Veteran Affairs Committee.
Congressman Tim Walz of Minnesota, who along with Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth, had actually served in the military (vs Rep. Brown's 20 years sitting on committee and not proposing even ONE bill to improve the VA), had years of experience working with the VFW, American Legion, and Military Officers Association to get Vets the red tape cut to get the help they needed.
But having the right person on a committee is not as important as having someone on the committee who has no clue what is going on (Rep Brown touted in the scandal that the VA had no problems in Florida and even claimed things were going great with a new Hospital in Orlando..that was five years late and $32 million over budget - still not open - and had a shortage of cemetery space)
Rep Tim Walz will be removed from being an effective voice to counter the GOP's anti-soldier agenda and put in place a bench sitter with no experience even after 20 years on the committee. In last year along Rep Walz submitted 10 bills to improve the VA and help Soldiers, much gained bi-partizan support and challenged the GOP bills that did less.
We lost the House because people were not doing the right things and opening us up to scandals like the VA mess. I am losing faith that the National party is even interested in helping Americans and has become like the GOP and only interested in paying back political favors.
