At least they're not poisoning the well.
House Republicans aren't giving up on their notion of "defunding" Obama's executive-branch
immigration reforms.
Reps. Ted Poe (R-Texas) and Diane Black (R-Tenn.) have introduced legislation to prohibit funding to implement President Obama's executive action on immigration.
Their bill, titled The Separation of Powers Act, would block the use of funds for deferring deportations of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally or providing work permits. [...]
"This legislation will allow Congress to exercise its 'check' on an out-of-control White House that treats the Constitution as a mere suggestion, not the law of the land," Poe said.
They seem surprisingly undeterred by the apparent problem that
there is nothing to defund; Immigration Services is not appropriated funds via the Congress in the first place, but is self-funded by the fees it charges to applicants. I suppose it is like a preschool child finding a hammer—the hammer is probably not the appropriate tool for any problem the lower four feet of your house may face, but by God it
will be used.
