If you're serious about FOIA and getting documents, start by checking the resources in your city or state.
I've decided to try and develop a master list of helpful organizations, grouping them by region and state. I'm especially interested in local or citizen-based groups. In another post I hope to give a couple examples. This master list will take a while.
In the meantime, check out these. Be aware that some of these organizations focus mainly on the federal government. But the links should take you to their lists of other groups.
By all means if you know of some others, add that in the comments and I'll check them out.
Don't forget your local universities (law schools, journalism schools). Call them too.
And go over to Scribd.com and try a search -- someone there may already be sharing documents they obtained by FOIA.
