Michael Brown Sr.
As they wait for the grand jury's decision on whether to indict Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot and killed their son Michael, the Brown family issued a
statement:
After the Grand Jury's decision, we are asking for 4 1/2 minutes of silence to remember why we lift our voices.
We are not here to be violent. We are here in memory of our son. We are here for protection of all children. We are here to request justice and equality for all people. We lift our voices and demonstrate to ensure black and brown men, women, and children can live in this country without being devalued because of the color of their skin.
Brown's body was left lying in the street for about 4 1/2 hours after he was killed by Darren Wilson. A grand jury has decided whether to indict Wilson, and its decision will be announced Monday night at 8:00 CT.
